Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka encouraged village governments to support national strategic programs when welcoming the visit of the Central Executive Board of the Association of Indonesian Village Governments (APDESI) members at the Vice President's Palace in Jakarta.

In the meeting, Vice President Gibran emphasized the importance of the strategic role of village governments in supporting the success of various national priority programs, such as the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KopDes Merah Putih), Sekolah Rakyat, and the free nutritious meals program.

"Their message was that we must remain enthusiastic about supporting the development of government programs while also doing it thoroughly. He also requested that this instruction be passed on to the lower levels," said Surta Wijaya, Chairman of the APDESI Central Executive Board, on Friday (8/8/2025).

Surta explained that he and more than 30 APDESI officials came to report on the results of the national working meeting.

One of the proposals submitted was to boost the allocation of village operational funds from 3 percent to 5 percent to facilitate the implementation of village government.

On the other hand, an APDESI official conveyed the ten issues of village government to be further discussed in the central government.

In response, the Vice President stated that all input would be studied. He emphasized that, as stated in the 6th Astacita, village development is the main foundation of national development.

Therefore, improving village infrastructure, empowering communities, and achieving economic equality will continue to be government priorities.
