Inp.polri.go.id - West Bandung. Authorities in West Bandung Regency, West Java, have temporarily closed three nutrition service unit (SPPG) kitchens under the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program after a mass food poisoning incident involving students in Cipongkor District.
“I am not suspending all 85 kitchens. Only three kitchens have been suspended because of suspected problems. We must not let one or two cases affect kitchens that have been operating properly. Basically, the MBG program is very good,” Regent Jeje Ritchie Ismail said on Thursday (25/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The three kitchens consist of two in Cipongkor and one in Cihampelas, while more than 80 others remain open under stricter supervision pending a full evaluation. West Bandung Regency administration declared the case an Extraordinary Event (KLB) after hundreds of students fell ill.
The regency administration confirmed the closures aim to allow investigators to review licensing and food safety standards. Kitchens may only reopen once corrective measures are in place.
