Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. Chief of West Java Regional Police Inspector General Akhmad Wiyagus visited Sumedang earthquake-affected patients at RSUD Sumedang Regional General Hospital last Sunday (31/12/2023), accompanied by Sumedang Acting Regent Herman Suyatman and the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing's Expert Staff in Integrated Development.
Police Superintendent Joko Dwi Harsono, Chief of Sumedang Sub-Regional Police, stated the visit aimed to confirm the safety of community health facilities from the earthquake. He added that post-earthquake, RSUD Sumedang set up emergency tents for 48 inpatients.
Despite assurance of the building's safety, some patients still choose the tents due to aftershock fears. "Ten patients moved to the hospital building. Despite assurance of safety, they remain anxious," he said.
He ensured personnel patrolled Sumedang's residential areas, where earthquake-displaced residents are in temporary shelters, to prevent crimes.
"Every night, Traffic and Samapta Unit personnel provide community security through residential patrols," he said.
