Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The West Java Regional Police have launched an investigation into a mass poisoning incident involving 301 students in Cipongkor, West Bandung, allegedly after eating food from the government’s Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program on Monday.
Victims ranged from elementary to vocational school students.
“We urge the public to remain calm. Medical teams are focusing on treating the victims, while the police are working to ensure a thorough investigation into the suspected cause of this poisoning,” said Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan, the West Java Police Head of Public Relations, on Tuesday (23/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
Authorities reported victims were treated across multiple facilities, including Cipongkor Health Center, RSUD Cililin regional hospital, and local emergency posts. The Health Office of West Bandung has declared the incident an extraordinary event and collected food and vomit samples for laboratory tests. Additional oxygen supplies were rushed to hospitals to aid treatment.
