West Java Police Tighten Their Supervision in Wild Animals Trading

inp.polri.go.id -  The West Java Regional Police have intensified their supervision of the trade in wild animals after the cases of animal torture by suspects in Tasikmalaya against wild animals. All ranks of the police and police will participate in conducting surveillance. "This incident has brought our attention and now this has become the attention for the resort police and the sectoral police to alwasy being active in conducting surveillance," explained the Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo, Sunday (18/09/22). Police Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo explained that the police and related agencies anticipated that the incident in Tasikmalaya would not occur elsewhere, and until now, they have not found any reports related to similar events in other areas. He invites and appeals to the entire community to monitor and report to the police if there are allegations of buying and selling protected animals or animal abuse. "We ask for an active role from the community to also monitor the situation in their respective area," said Ibrahim. Previously, the police had succeeded in naming two residents of Tasikmalaya Regency as suspects in cases of animal torture and the activity of buying and selling protected animals. Two people, each with the initials AY (25 years old) and I (25) are suspected of carrying out the action since the past four months.
