Inp.polri.go.id - Kubu Raya. The Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Unit of the West Kalimantan Regional Police has intensified surveillance over post-fire peatlands in Kubu Raya Regency to prevent underground embers from reigniting, officers confirmed during ground monitoring in Rasau Jaya Village on Wednesday (20/9/2026).
West Kalimantan Brimob Commander Senior Superintendent Dede Rojudin instructed officers to execute routine inspections across fire-prone areas, emphasizing that the physical characteristics of peat soil allow fires to smolder silently beneath the surface and reignite when environmental conditions shift.
Patrol Team Leader Second Inspector Gede Muliana noted that teams are actively inspecting burned areas for lingering smoke, embers, or hotspot activity while urging local communities to immediately report fire indicators to the police hotline or regional response posts.
West Kalimantan Police Head Public Relations Senior Superintendent Bambang Suharyono reaffirmed that early detection, sustained monitoring, and active community cooperation against land burning remain fundamental to preventing further peatland crisis cycles
