Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Bali Governor Wayan Koster met World Bank Country Director Carolyn Turk on Sunday (24/5/2026) to discuss five pressing issues facing the province: wastewater management, waste control, transportation, clean water supply, and energy availability.
“We thank the World Bank for its input. Infrastructure is a major concern requiring significant funding,” he said, noting the alignment with Bali’s long-term development plan. He emphasized ongoing efforts such as limiting single-use plastics, improving waste management, and promoting clean energy.
Turk stressed that the challenges go beyond tourism, affecting basic needs and quality of life.
“If not addressed now, Bali could face serious problems in the future. The challenge is ensuring Bali remains a global leader in the years ahead,” she said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The World Bank requested a technical team to collaborate on strategic solutions, with findings to be presented in future meetings.
