Yogyakarta Police Chief Monitors Polling Station Security

Chief of Yogyakarta Regional Police Inspector General Suwondo Nainggolan, accompanied by Vice Chief Adi Vivid Agustiadi Bachtiar and senior officials, directly monitored security at multiple polling stations  on Wednesday (2/14/2024). The police chief emphasized the importance of officers prioritizing their physical well-being during the ongoing voting process, saying, "Please ensure to maintain your health condition, and if tired, take a seat and rest. The voting process is still lengthy." Meanwhile, Police Senior Superintendent Nugroho Arianto, the Head of Yogyakarta Regional Police's Public Relations, reported on the region's peaceful democratic process. "Thankfully, the voting process in the region has been safe and peaceful," he said. He expressed hopes for the democratic process to proceed successfully, securely, and smoothly until the vote counting stage and beyond. (ar/rz/pr/nm)
