inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka said that input and contributions from the younger generation are greatly needed to strengthen government programs to improve public welfare.
He said this when meeting with the Central Management of the Indonesian Christian Student Movement (GMKI) at the Vice President's Office, Jakarta, Friday.
In his meeting, the Vice President invited the younger generation, especially those who are members of religious organizations, to actively participate in national development.
This is in line with one of the Astacita points regarding strengthening the role of youth and strengthening tolerance between religious communities as a foundation for realizing a just, prosperous, and civilized society.
Furthermore, Gibran emphasized that the younger generation holds a strategic position in the national development process, especially amidst the demographic bonus momentum that Indonesia is currently enjoying.
As is known, the government under the leadership of President Prabowo has a great commitment to youth empowerment.
On several occasions, Gibran reminded the importance of the role of the younger generation in the efforts of achieving 2045 Golden Indonesia.
"This opportunity will not come often, where around 208 million of our population will be of productive age, where they will have a significant influence in determining the direction of progress," said Gibran some time ago.
In the meeting with GMKI, Gibran also discussed access to education and government programs, such as the free nutritious meal program.
Closing the meeting, GMKI also directly conveyed an invitation to the Vice President to open the GMKI Congress which will be held in Samarinda, East Kalimantan in mid-May 2025.
