Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto, has reiterated the government's firm stance against foreigners who engage in behavior that disrupts public order or violates local norms.
“There is no tolerance for foreigners who disturb public peace, especially those violating moral norms that can harm our younger generation,” he said on Wednesday (21/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
His remarks followed the case exposure of an American citizen, identified as TK, who allegedly misused his visitor visa by producing pornographic content in Indonesia.
Acting Director General of Immigration, Yuldi Yusman, emphasized the agency’s commitment to upholding national dignity and enforcing immigration laws.
“We will intensify monitoring of foreign nationals and take firm action against those who disrespect our legal sovereignty and contribute nothing positive to the nation,” he said.
The American, who entered Indonesia on 25 January 2025, via Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, had been living as a backpacker. Authorities say he targeted people at entertainment venues and involved at least two Indonesian citizens in amateur pornographic videos he later distributed online.
He was arrested on 25 March 2025 while attempting to leave for Kuala Lumpur. Subsequent investigations uncovered hundreds of videos stored on seized electronic devices.
TK is now detained in Central Jakarta and faces both criminal and immigration charges. Under the Immigration Law, he faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to Rp 500 million for engaging in activities inconsistent with his visa.
