Zulhas Inspects SPPG Unit in North Jakarta in Ensuring the Smooth Program of MBG

Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) visited the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) of the North Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police and several schools in North Jakarta to observe firsthand the preparation and distribution of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program to students.

"Today, we are here to ensure that President Prabowo's directive regarding the MBG program is running smoothly," said Zulhas on Tuesday (1/13/2026).

He said the first location visited was the SPPG of the North Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police in Pegangsaan Dua Village. Zulhas said he witnessed firsthand the food processing and distribution procedures for MBG to several schools.

The Coordinating Minister also considered the North Jakarta Sub-regional Metropolitan Police SPPG to be the best he had ever visited.

He then visited SMK 33 Jakarta and SMA Hang Tuah, located in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

During his visit, Zulhas discussed the program with students and confirmed that the MBG program aims to improve the quality of students' diets, which will contribute to Indonesia's future human resources.

"The quality of food consumed influences human resources. For example, in China, they eat one chicken for four people which makes them grow tall and smart," said the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs.

The Coordinating Minister also encouraged students to be enthusiastic about learning and utilize the MBG program to meet their daily nutritional needs. "If nutrition is met properly, Indonesian children will grow to be great," he continued.

Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs admitted that he frequently visits the field every week to review the implementation of several programs initiated by President Prabowo Subianto, from the MBG program, the Red and White Cooperative, to Waste Energy.

According to the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, the MBG program is progressing better day by day. "It's progressing better, in line with the government's program," he concluded.
