The event was held in the office field of Gampong Lhok Igeuh, Tiro District, and was also attended by a number of important officials in the Pidie Regency.

During the launching event of the drug-free village, 19 village heads in Tiro District attended the launch which was broadcast virtually and was attended by 23 districts.

In his speech, Shobarmen conveyed three strategies in the law to eradicate drugs, including legal action, prevention and conducting socialization. He said, through the launching of drug-free villages, there would be support from “keuchik” and residents to protect against people who seek profit and damage the younger generation via drugs.

Meanwhile, Pidie Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Jaka Mulyana explains that the drug-free village launch was held simultaneously in 23 sub-district virtually, which is centered in Gampong Lhok Igoeh, Tiro District.

"This activity is a spirit to be spread to other villages to voluntarily become drug-free villages in preventing the distribution and abuse of narcotics," explained Jaka.

According to him, drugs are a social disease that must be fought, and this requires cooperation with all parties, including the community.
