inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said that the reduction in airline ticket prices was a pro-people policy.
Coordinating Minister AHY highlighted the possibility of reducing public transportation ticket prices as successfully implemented during the Christmas and New Year period in the Eid preparation Coordination Meeting (Rakor).
"We have to work hard in a short span of time. Remember when we had just been inaugurated but had to prepare for Christmas and New Year and reduce airplane tickets for 10 percent. All this is a pro-people policy and has a positive impact on tourism and strengthening the economic sector in the regions," said Coordinating Minister AHY on Thursday (2/6/2025).
With the trend of increasing community mobility post-pandemic, this coordination meeting for Eid preparations is important to anticipate challenges that may arise.
Coordinating Minister AHY emphasized the importance of strong coordination in all lines to ensure the smooth running of this year's Eid homecoming.
"We ensure that the infrastructure, roads, and all supporting facilities are in prime condition so that there are no significant obstacles," said Coordinating Minister AHY.
Previously, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said that the increase in the number of passengers on all modes of transportation, both air, train and sea transportation in December 2024 was driven by a decrease in plane ticket prices and also discounts.
The number of passenger departures increased across all modes of transport compared to the same period in 2023.
Domestic air transportation increased by 1.76 percent from 62.56 million passengers in 2023 to 63.69 million in 2024. International air transportation increased by 21.46 percent from 15.64 million passengers in 2023 to 19 million in 2024.
