Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Bali Regional Police have uncovered an international online gambling syndicate operated by 35 Indian citizens out of two luxury villas in Badung and Tabanan.
Following a cyber patrol that identified the promotional account "Rambetexchange," authorities raided the locations on 3 February 2026, seizing dozens of laptops and mobile phones used to manage a digital betting platform generating an estimated Rp 8 billion in monthly turnover.
"From the operational results, the site is estimated to generate an average of approximately INR 22,980,373, or equivalent to Rp 4.3 billion per month at each location," Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya said during a press conference in Denpasar on Saturday (7/2/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
Investigations revealed the suspects entered Indonesia on tourist visas in late 2025, posing as vacationers while serving as operators for the "Ram Betting Exchange."
Recruited in India with monthly salaries of Rp 5 million, the men targeted fellow Indian citizens through Instagram-based marketing. The 35 suspects now face up to nine years in prison under Indonesia’s Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law and the Criminal Code.
