Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Bhayangkara FC has officially punched its ticket to Liga 1 next season after grinding out a 0-0 draw against Persijap Jepara in the Elite Eight round of Liga 2 at Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium on Wednesday (12/2/2025).

The result keeps The Guardians atop Group Y with nine points from five matches, making it mathematically impossible for Persijap Jepara to overtake them, even with one game left to play. 

Bhayangkara holds the head-to-head tiebreaker, having cruised to a 3-0 victory over Persijap in their previous clash, according to antaranews.com.

With promotion in the bag, Bhayangkara FC now sets its sights on the Liga 2 final, where they will square off against the Group X winner, looking to cap off their comeback in style.

Meanwhile, Persijap Jepara remains in the hunt for promotion, sitting second in Group Y with six points. However, their spot in the playoffs is far from secure, with PSKC Cimahi (5 points) and Persela Lamongan (4 points) breathing down their necks.

Bhayangkara FC, who lifted the Liga 1 trophy in 2017, endured a nightmare campaign last season, finishing 17th and suffering relegation. However, they have bounced back in commanding fashion this term, going unbeaten in the Elite Eight round with two wins and three draws.
