inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) emphasized the importance of fulfilling the basic needs of disaster-affected communities as a top priority. Especially in every phase of disaster management such as emergency alert, emergency response, to the transition of rehabilitation and reconstruction.
“For example, during the emergency response, we have to make sure that the provision of the basic needs for the affected public are provided optimally,” says Head of BNPB Suharyanto on Friday (1/3/2025).
“Establishing evacuation posts and others can be done later. The most important thing is how the basic needs of the community are met, such as food, drink, clean water, and clothing," continued the Head of BNPB.
He asked regional leaders to pay attention to each stage or step in the disaster management phase. Starting from emergency alert, emergency response, to the rehabilitation and reconstruction transition so that it runs optimally.
BNPB, said Suharyanto, is ready to help if in disaster management the regional government needs support from the central government. This is so that emergency response can run optimally and the fulfillment of community needs can run well.
He also appreciated the rapid response of the regional government in handling the disaster that occurred in South Sulawesi. It is hoped that from this coordination meeting, each region will prepare themselves in disaster mitigation, especially in early 2025.
