inp.polri.go.id - Palangka Raya. Central Kalimantan Regional Police announced their 2024 work-report with Chief Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto reporting that the criminal activity in the province is increasing 3.3% compared to last year.
"From 4,420 cases to 4,568 cases or an increase of 148 cases dominated by conventional crimes," said the Central Kalimantan Regional Police Chief on Monday (12/30/2024).
Moreover, he also noted that the resolution of cases decreased by 19 percent from 2,810 cases to 2,333 cases or a decrease of 477 cases.
Meanwhile, for traffic analysis and evaluation, the number of traffic accidents in 2024 decreased by 12 percent, from 1,014 cases in 2024 to 1,148 cases in 2023.
"The number of traffic accident fatalities decreased from 399 people in 2023 to 302 people in 2024, and the number of seriously injured victims also decreased from 148 people in 2023 to 73 people in 2024," report Djoko.
Furthermore, regarding narcotics cases, the Central Kalimantan Regional Police and its ranks managed to secure 775 suspects in 2024 with a total of 617 cases.
"This shows our commitment in creating a safe and comfortable public order situation in the province," said Inspector General Djoko.
He also said that his party is currently committed to supporting the vision and mission of the President of the Republic of Indonesia's Asta Cita, especially regarding food self-sufficiency through the launch of a food security task force, mentoring farmer groups, and accepting non-commissioned officers with special competence in the field of P3GKM.
Djoko added that the improvements and imperfections in the implementation of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police's duties in 2024 will be a correction and evaluation as well as a momentum to always improve.
"Let's welcome 2025 with the spirit of Isen Mulang and continue to uphold the philosophy of Betang Public Relations, which is to live together, helping each other in differences," he said.
