Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Minister of Housing Maruarar Sirait will launch a complaint service to address housing-related grievances, ensuring stronger consumer protection.
“We will introduce a housing complaint service similar to emergency hotlines abroad,” he said on Saturday (15/3/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The initiative responds to widespread complaints, particularly about developers failing to deliver as promised. The Ministry will collaborate with the National Consumer Protection Agency (BPKN) to protect homebuyers, especially low-income families purchasing subsidized housing.
Developers failing to meet quality standards—such as structural integrity, water supply, and public facilities—will face enforcement actions. The ministry has also requested targeted audits by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
BPKN Chairman Muhammad Mufti Mubarok welcomed the initiative, reaffirming commitment to protecting consumer rights in the housing sector.
