Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and Pakistan signed seven memoranda of understanding on Tuesday (9/12/2025) in Islamabad, formalizing cooperation across education, trade, halal certification, SMEs, archives, counter-narcotics, and health.
The agreements were exchanged during President Prabowo Subianto’s official visit to the PM House, witnessed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“These MoUs strengthen long-term cooperation and reflect our commitment to mutually beneficial partnerships,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, as cited by antaranews.com.
The education MoUs include higher education cooperation and the launch of the Indonesian Aid Scholarship. Trade and halal certification agreements were signed as both countries, which are home to the world’s largest Muslim populations, seek to expand market access. Cooperation on SME development was also confirmed, alongside agreements on national archives and health services. Both governments additionally formalized a joint commitment to combat narcotics trafficking.
President Prabowo’s 8 and 9 December 2025 state visit included a four-eye meeting with Prime Minister Sharif and a bilateral session attended by senior Indonesian officials, including the foreign minister, the economic affairs coordinating minister, and military leaders.
