The Head of the Indonesian National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Eddy Hartono said that cooperation between Indonesia and China in increasing capacity is very important in preventing terrorism.
"This collaboration is also expected to provide effective solutions in dealing with terrorism problems, which not only endanger national security, but also regional stability," said the Head of BNPT, Friday (6/12/24).
In the Indonesia-China meeting, the Head of BNPT RI together with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia Wang Lutong discussed strengthening cooperation in improving the national security of the two countries and the region.
Eddy emphasized that his party will make maximum efforts to ensure that the domestic situation remains conducive and safe from terrorism.
"We continue to be committed to maintaining security because this is our obligation to ensure that the situation remains conducive," affirms Eddy.
Given that both countries have long experience in dealing with terrorism, the meeting highlighted various concrete steps that can be taken to mutually support efforts to combat terrorism, including handling children associated with terrorist groups.
He considered the meeting to be a momentum to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in dealing with the increasingly complex threat of terrorism.
On the same occasion, Ambassador Wang Luntong hoped that the Indonesian BNPT and the Chinese government could cooperate in combating terrorism and training to increase the capacity of both countries.
