Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono launched the Gastrodiplomacy Dashboard on Monday (30/12/2024) to enhance the country's culinary diplomacy as part of its soft power strategy to promote Indonesian cuisine globally, strengthening cultural ties and boosting economic and trade relations.
He said that food is a powerful tool for diplomacy, serving as a bridge for cultural exchange and international relations. In 2024, Indonesia exported 30 spice products and 9 culinary seasonings worldwide.
Minister Sugiono stressed the need for coordinated efforts across various stakeholders to promote Indonesia's gastronomy as part of the nation's branding, according to antaranews.com.
The event also received support from the Ministry of Creative Economy, including Deputy Yuke Sri Rahayu, who believes the dashboard will accelerate the recognition of Indonesian cuisine globally.
The launch was attended by officials from the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of SMEs, Ministry of Tourism, BUMNs, and culinary experts, including William Wongso.
The dashboard provides data on Indonesian restaurants abroad and supports the ongoing Indonesia Spice Up The World initiative.
