Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) and the Netherlands’ National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve cooperation in combating cyberterrorism.
BNPT Chief Commissioner General Eddy Hartono said in a statement on Tuesday (11/3/2025) that the partnership focuses on preventing the spread of radical terrorist ideologies online.
“With this MoU, we aim for more effective collaboration with the Dutch government to counter terrorism, especially in cyberspace,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Terrorist groups frequently exploit cyberspace for propaganda, recruitment, and funding. The agreement emphasizes intelligence sharing and capacity building in cyber analysis.
Dutch Ambassador Marc Gerritsen stressed that terrorism threats remain dynamic and require continuous attention.
“Radicalization in the Netherlands and Indonesia is often influenced by global developments,” he noted.
Ambassador Gerritsen hopes the partnership will enhance counter-radicalization strategies, information exchange, and analytical capabilities to bolster digital security in both nations.
