Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesia’s Women’s National Football Team has advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 AFF Women’s Cup after a narrow 1-0 victory over Malaysia on Tuesday (26/11/2024). 

Claudia Scheunemann scored the decisive goal in the 79th minute, ensuring the team’s progression from Group B.

“Thank God, Indonesia’s Women’s National Team has reached the semifinals after defeating Malaysia in the second group-stage match of the AFF Women’s Cup 2024. Claudia Scheunemann’s goal was pivotal for our victory,” said the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Chairman Erick Thohir in an Instagram post, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The victory placed Indonesia at the top of Group B with four points from two matches, following a goalless draw against Cambodia in their opening game. With this result, Indonesia’s qualification for the semifinals is secured, regardless of the outcome of the Cambodia-Malaysia match.

The semi finals are scheduled for 2 December 2024, with the final and third-place matches set for 5 December 2024.
