Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) have strengthened coordination to implement the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code, which will take effect in early 2026.
The agreement was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed in Jakarta on Tuesday (16/12/2205).
“This cooperation is meant to ensure justice is truly delivered to the public,” Attorney General ST Burhanuddin said after the signing at the INP Criminal Investigation Agency headquarters.
The partnership involves the INP, the Attorney General’s Office, lawmakers, and the Ministry of Law, aiming to harmonize law enforcement practices under the new legal framework.
INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the new codes address public expectations, including fair legal processes, respect for local wisdom, and firm action against violations. Through this collaboration, both institutions seek to apply the new laws consistently and transparently, ensuring legal certainty and public trust as Indonesia enters a new phase of criminal justice reform.
