inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo ensured that international sporting events in Indonesia will not be affected by the government's budget efficiency policy.

"For sports that already have commitments with international federations, it will not be affected (by the budget cuts) and will definitely continue," said the Minister of Youth and Sports on Thursday (2/27/2025).

This statement responds to concerns regarding the impact of Prabowo Subianto's government's budget efficiency on the organization of international sports championships in Indonesia next year. The Ministry of Youth and Sports itself has cut the budget by IDR 1.29 trillion for the 2025 work program, due to the efficiency policy.

The definitive ceiling of the 2025 budget, which was originally set at IDR 2.33 trillion, was reduced after the reconstruction, to IDR 1.034 trillion. However, despite the budget reduction, Dito ensured that preparations for international events would continue according to plan.

Dito also emphasized that budget efficiency will not paralyze the national sports sector, especially in organizing global-scale events.

"This efficiency does not mean paralyzing our sports. International-scale events actually have a very good impact on Indonesia, both in terms of sports achievements and other development aspects," said the Minister of Youth and Sports.

Indonesia itself has been appointed as the host for a number of international events, including the FIG Gymnastics World Championships, Asian Fencing Championships, Asian Cadet and Junior Judo Championships, and the Asian Cup Woodball Championships
