inp.polri.go.id - Pelawan. Pelalawan Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Afrizal Asri accompanied Regent Zukri in directly reviewing the flood location in East Sumatra Cross Road (Jalintim) in Pelalawan, Riau. Also present at the review was DPRD Chairman Syafrizal.
Zukri says that the aim of the review was to ensure the smooth traffic flow and situation in the locations.
“Last night, together with the Pelalawan Sub-regional Police Chief and DPRD Chairman, we reviewed the flood situation in East Sumatra Cross Road. We are grateful that the water flood has been going down,” says Zukri on Wednesday (1/29/2025).
According to Zukri, water levels have started to fall in a number of locations, including Km 83. Previously, at Km 83 the water level was up to 65 cm and this has been happening since last week.
"From Km 73 we shifted to Km 83, which is the deepest flood point. It has receded from an initial depth of 65 cm to now only around 40 cm," explained the Regent.
Apart from seeing the location of the flood, Zukri also had a conversation with the drivers regarding the quite long queues in Jalintim Sumatra due to the flood.
He assured that joint personnel from the Indonesian National Military (TNI), Indonesian National Police (INP), Transportation Agency, BPBD and volunteers would be on standby 24 hours at the location. The team helped regulate traffic and monitor flooded lanes.
