Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. An online news journalist was found dead in his room at Hotel D'Paragon Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Friday night, West Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police confirmed.
West Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Chief Superintendent Arfan Zulkan Sipayung said on Saturday (5/4/2025) that his team responded to the scene at 9 pm following a report.
“We found the deceased in his own room. He was from Palu,” he told antaranews.com
The body of the journalist, identified as SW (33) is currently undergoing autopsy at the Indonesian National Police (INP) Bhayangkara Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta with the family granting permission for the procedure.
While bruises were observed on the victim’s body, Chief Arfan said that there is no immediate evidence of blunt force trauma or assault.
“There are bruises on the body but none on the face. So far, no signs of foul play,” he said.
Police have questioned three witnesses from the hotel as part of the ongoing investigation.
