inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police arrested a suspect with the name of Fierly Damalanti in connection with an investment fraud under the guise of a medical equipment procurement project for COVID-19 in 2022. The suspect used the IDR 5.8 billion of the proceeds of the crime to pay off debts.

"In the case uncovered at the Galaxy Housing Complex, South Bekasi, the total victim's loss reached IDR 5,847,900 billion," Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi told reporters on Thursday (11/14/2024).

He also explains that according to the statement of the suspect, she offered the victims with project cooperation of the East Jakarta City Government related to several procurements of goods, including the fulfillment of COVID-19 needs. He explained that the perpetrators convinced their victims by showing a Budget Plan (RAB) that was prepared as if it were legitimate.

"However, in fact, after a thorough investigation, even though the project really did exist, it was not won by the suspect. The real winner has also been questioned and the real winner stated that he did not know suspect FD," said Ade

So far, he said, there have been five victims who were deceived by Fierly Damalanti. Police also appealed to other victims to contact police investigators in relation to this case.
