Police Cleans After the Flood Disaster in 13 Affected Areas in Sukabumi

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The police together with the military, Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), volunteers, and the community worked together to clean up after the flood, landslide, and fallen trees in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, following a downpour.

“This activity is part of the acceleration effort in cleaning the area following the flood disaster,” says the Head of West Java Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Jules Abraham Abast on Friday (3/7/2025).

According to him, this activity is part of the responsibility of the authorities to help people who are experiencing difficulties. His party also continues to coordinate with BPBD and related agencies to ensure public safety and distribute aid to victims.

It is known that this natural disaster has affected 13 sub-districts, namely Curug Kembar, Simpenan, Palabuhanratu, Waluran, Bantargadung, Cikembar, Warung Kiara, Sagaranten, Lengkong, Jampang Tengah, Ciemas, Cimanggu, and Pabuaran.

A total of 104 families were affected, with 64 people forced to take refuge at the SUPRA Palabuhanratu Bank Office. In addition, 109 houses were submerged, four houses suffered minor damage and five houses suffered severe damage.

The Head of Public Relations emphasized that the West Java Regional Police are paying special attention to this disaster and continue to oversee the recovery efforts carried out by the Sukabumi Police. Moreover, this disaster also resulted in fatalities, with a person dying and two others still being searched for.

“We assure you that our police in West Java, including the Sukabumi Sub-regional Police, are moving quickly to help the people. Steps on disaster mitigation efforts, including evacuation, aid distribution, and cleaning after the flood location, are continued to be carried out so that people can return to their daily activities,” explains Jules in conclusion.
