Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto and Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov met at the Merdeka Palace on Tuesday (15/4/2025) to discuss the progress of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Indonesia and the Eurasian Economic Union.
“The FTA was among the topics discussed today. We hope that by the time the President visits St. Petersburg later this year, the agreement will be finalized,” said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto during a press briefing following the bilateral meeting.
Manturov formally invited President Prabowo to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), scheduled for 18 to 21 June 2025, and the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on 9 May 2025.
The Russian delegation also expressed interest in increasing direct flights from Moscow to Indonesia and proposed new mechanisms to ease Russian tourist access.
“Russia is considering expanding flight routes and enhancing financial systems to facilitate tourism,” said Minister Airlangga, as reported by antaranews.com.
The meeting also covered opportunities for increased bilateral investment and the revival of a previously postponed high-level dialogue.
