Inp.polri.go.id - Malang. The Jakarta Popsivo Polwan secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory (25-17, 21-25, 25-18, 26-24) against league leaders Gresik Phonska Plus Pupuk Indonesia at GOR Ken Arok stadium on Friday night (6/2/2026).
The victory was a significant turning point for Popsivo Polwan, effectively snapping Gresik Phonska’s unbeaten streak in the Proliga 2026 season. Despite the loss, Gresik Phonska remains at the top of the standings with 20 points, while Popsivo Polwan climbs to third place with 12 points.
"Previously, we studied their game, and today all systems were successfully implemented by the players, even though there was some pressure," said Jakarta Popsivo Polwan coach Darko Dobriskov during the post-match press conference, as reported by antaranews.com
Gresik Phonska’s performance was hindered by the absence of head coach Alessandro Lodi and a missing foreign player, leading to visible nerves and a disrupted rhythm. Popsivo Polwan capitalized on these weaknesses, maintaining high concentration throughout the four sets.
Coach Dobriskov said that while the victory is a morale booster, the team must remain focused on addressing minor technical flaws to sustain their current momentum in the upcoming fixtures.
