North Kalimantan Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto, and Commander of Mulawarman Regional Military Command, Major General Rudy Rachmat Nugraha, said on Tuesday (25/2/2025) that the recent attack on Tarakan Sub-regional Police Headquarters, allegedly involving several Indonesian Military (TNI) soldiers, will not disrupt TNI-INP solidarity.
"We, the TNI and INP, have taken joint and tiered measures to resolve this issue," Chief Hary said during a press briefing, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He said that efforts involving the INP’s Professional and Security Division, TNI Military Police, and local commanders were underway to address the aftermath.
Commander Rudy echoed this sentiment, adding, "This incident will not damage the solidarity we have built with the police."
Several soldiers suspected of involvement in the attack on the Tarakan Police Headquarters are now under investigation.
The incident, which occurred on Monday nigh around 11 pm., was captured on video by a local residents and widely shared on social media. The footage shows a group attacking the police headquarters, resulting in injuries to five police officers and damage to several office facilities.
