inp.polri.go.id - Gresik. The police confirmed that there was an accident involving an umrah group in Gresik, East Java. From the incident, seven people died and two people suffered minor injuries.

"The victims are still at the Ibnu Sina Hospital in Gresik," explained Gresik Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Rovan Richard Mahenu when confirmed on Thursday (4/10/2025).

He said that the identities of the deceased victims were Siti Umihanik (63), Wiwik Sunarti (43), Muhammad Aqib (26), Hafiz Gandawiharja (17), Muhammad Al Fatih (3), Besar (66), Akhmad Basuki (49). Then, the identities of the victims with minor injuries were Suwarno (46) and Khoirul Anam (23).

Rovan explained that currently the police and Jasa Raharja are waiting for the victim's family at the hospital. In addition, the handling of this accident is still being carried out to find out the cause.

"We are waiting for the victim's family and will coordinate with Jasaraharja as well," said Rovan.
