inp.polri.go.id - Riau. The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of Riau Regional Police raids used imported clothes warehouse in Tiban Kencana housing complex, Sekupang, Batam. The uncovering is part of a 100 days Asta Cita program realization effort.

"The Asta Cita program emphasizes the prevention of smuggling criminal acts from abroad," said the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Riau Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Nasriadi on Wednesday (11/7/20 24).

He said that a truck containing 200 sacks of illegally imported used clothes ready to be sent was found in the raid. The raid was a development of the action from the illegal import case in Pekanbaru.

Previously, one suspect with the initials DR was secured in Pekanbaru. From the suspect's statement, he got the goods from Batam.

“This raid was supported by Riau Island Regional Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate and we found a hundred sacks of used clothes. The value of the goods is estimated at IDR 500 million," he said.

During the raid, he said, the owner of the used goods, JM, had fled. However, investigators have checked the perpetrator at two locations of his house.

In his closing statement, Nasriadi says that the secured evidence will be moved to Pekanbaru for further investigation. On the other hand, the owner of the illegal imported goods will be hunted down.
