inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Narcotic Agency (BNN) emphasized that cross-sectoral cooperation is an effective way to eradicate the flow of drugs, particularly the international drug rings.
"One of our biggest challenges is the distribution of narcotics across countries, especially from the Golden Triangle region (Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos),” says BNN Deputy of Eradication, Sugiri on Thursday (11/7/2024).
For that, BNN has officially collaborated with the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation as an effort to create a safe transportation environment free from drug abuse.
With this cooperation, Sugiri hopes that the safety and comfort of train passengers can be improved, as well as providing a real contribution to efforts to eradicate drugs in Indonesia.
The cooperation was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement on the implementation of Prevention and Eradication of Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors (P4GN) in Jakarta on Tuesday (11/5/2024).
Later, the cooperation will be carried out through various efforts, such as data exchange, joint operations, and socialization. Both institutions are committed to supporting each other in eradicating drug networks that utilize train transportation as a distribution route.
