inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, encouraged regional radio broadcast managers to be more adaptive in facing the digital era by adopting new technologies.
This step is considered important so that regional radio remains existent and relevant amidst digital disruption.
"Adopting new technology and still packaging content with strong audio characters will help reach listeners and build close emotional connections, as radio has achieved in the past," said Nezar.
He emphasized that technological disruption, especially through streaming platforms, has shaken conventional media, including traditional radio. Therefore, regional radio needs to utilize streaming technology to reach new listeners and maintain its existence.
"Radio that is present through online streaming now has its own listeners. However, traditional radio has also lost some of its loyal listeners through conventional frequencies," explained the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital.
In addition to functioning as a communication medium, the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital considers regional radio to be effective in spreading local aspirations and reaching communities in remote areas.
"Regional radio is a communication channel that is close to the community. The determination of Regional Radio Day is expected to strengthen the existence of radio in the midst of the digital era," concluded the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital.
