inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated that 8,000 beneficiary families (KPM) out of a total of 35.4 million families as of Monday have received additional direct cash assistance (BLT) as part of the government's social assistance expansion policy.
"8,000 recipients have received it today through their respective accounts, distributed by the State-Owned Enterprises (Himbara). This will continue. There will also be a disbursement scheme through PT Pos Indonesia (State Post Office) and direct delivery to the recipients' addresses," said the Minister of Social Affairs on Monday (October 20, 2025).
He explained that a total of 35.4 million KPM received social assistance in the fourth quarter of this year (October-December), including both regular recipients and new beneficiaries, including more than 14 million families in deciles 1-4 for the Family Hope Program (PKH) and the Food Assistance Program.
The Ministry of Social Affairs confirmed that during the distribution, recipients of basic food assistance will receive IDR 1,500,000 per family. Meanwhile, new beneficiaries received IDR 900,000.
In this regard, the Ministry of Social Affairs' total budget ceiling for the two programs increased significantly, from IDR 71 trillion to over IDR 110 trillion by the end of the year, an increase of approximately IDR 31 trillion.
"The President has never reduced social assistance to the public; in fact, he has increased it. This increase is expected to truly provide social protection for those in need," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
He emphasized that the policy of increasing assistance is expected to boost people's purchasing power towards the end of the year and strengthen the social protection net amidst the dynamics of the national economy. All beneficiaries will remain under government support until they achieve independence.
