Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Regional Police dispatched a specialized team to assist the Aceh Singkil Sub-regional Police in investigating a forest and land fire within the Hak Guna Usaha (HGU) concession area of PT Nafasindo in Aceh Singkil Regency.

Led directly by Aceh Police Director of Special Crimes Senior Superintendent Wahyudi, the joint team conducted a comprehensive evaluation, site reconstruction, and witness interviews on Tuesday (15/9/2026).

"During the field assistance, the Aceh Police team verified facts, cross-referenced witness statements, and examined the exact origin of the fire at the PT Nafasindo HGU location," said Aceh Police Head of Public Relations Head Senior Superintendent Joko Krisdiyanto in Banda Aceh.

Preliminary testimonies from local workers, farm owners, and corporate fire response personnel indicate that the fire originated from within the plantation area rather than its outer perimeter. Investigators continue to collect legally valid physical evidence to establish the exact cause of the fire and ensure objective legal processing.
