"We are currently collecting materials related to the alleged use of false data of the fugitive Adelin Lis, and [we] keep communicating with Directorate General of Immigration," the Director of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesia National Police, Brigadier General. Andi Rian Djajadi, explained when confirmed in Jakarta.
The data collected by investigators such as where the passport was processed and how the process was issued. In addition, to facilitate the investigation, the Directorate of General Crime of Criminal Investigation Unit of Indonesia National Police coordinated with Police Attaché in Singapore, considering that Adelin Lis was arrested for using a fake passport while in Singapore.
"Crime Investigation Unit team has already established communication with the Police Attaché in Singapore," he said.
Previously, it was reported after the illegal logging convict Adelin Lis had been sent back from Singapore to Jakarta, the Directorate of General Crime of Criminal Investigation Unit of Indonesia National Police investigated the use of a fake passport by Adelin Lis in the name of Hendro Leonardi, which was used while fugitive in Singapore. Adelin Lin was arrested by the Singapore government for using a fake passport in the name of Hendro Leonardi and a fine of 14,000 Singapore dollars or around Rp140 million and deported from Singapore.
The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore then conveyed a facsimile report (brafax) to the Attorney General regarding the legal process for Indonesian citizen on behalf of Hendro Leonardi with charges of forgery of identity on behalf of Adelin Lis. Then on March 8, 2021, from the results of the coordination between the Indonesian National Police Attaché with the Indonesia National Police Headquarters and North Sumatera Regional Police, it was found that Adelin Lis was an Indonesian citizen and a DPO (wanted fugitive) of North Sumatra Regional Police.
Adelin Lis is also included in Interpol red notice No. A-2671/1-12007, dated November 19, 2007, and has not yet expired. The Attorney General's Office brought Adelin Lis from Singapore to Jakarta on Saturday (06/19), to immediately undergo sentence execution handed down by Supreme Court. The Supreme Court sentenced Adelin to 10 years in prison, a fine of 1 billion rupiahs, and replacement money of Rp. 199.8 billion and reforestation of 2.938 million US dollars. Adelin Lis is jailed at Salemba State Detention Center or Rutan Salemba, a branch of the Attorney General's Office. Before serving a prison sentence and a fine, Adelin Lis first underwent isolation according to the Covid-19 health protocol for 14 days.
