inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police revealed that a neighbor who assaulted a man in Cengkareng has filed a counter-report against the victim for threats. 

The case reportedly began when the perpetrator refused to accept a reprimand for playing the drums, causing noise in the neighborhood.

"The reported party, the perpetrator of the assault, also filed a police report alleging threats of damage if he did not stop playing the drums, which disturbed public order," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, Monday (2/9/2026).

Budi stated that the victim was reported under Article 448 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. He added that the police are currently investigating both reports.

"We accept reports from all citizens who report an incident or event to the police station. This is the absolute right of all citizens, so there is no discrimination, no favoritism, as long as the case meets the elements of a crime, has sufficient evidence, and there are witnesses," he explained.

In this case, the victim of the assault is identified as D. The perpetrator, who reported the threats, is identified as DBTS.
