Inp.polri.go.id – Riau Island. Riau Island Regional Police inspects market and food distributors to anticipate hoarding and ensure supple food supplies in Ramadan ahead Eid Al-Fitr.
“The food task force form Riau Island Regional Police is here to prevent hoarding and to ensure the food supplies for Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr in the market is sufficient,” said the Head of Special Criminal Investigation Sub-directorate, Police Assistant Superintendent Argya Satrya on Tuesday (3/26/2024).
In the operation, his party also involved the Industry and Trade Service Office, Batam City Food Security Service, BPOM Riau Islands and related agencies. Several locations were visited, from markets to distributors.
“We inspected Pujabahari Jodoh Market, Mitra Raya, minimarkets and supermarket, PT Srijaya Indah Tunas Batam Center warehouse, and PT Prima Mitra Niaga,” report Argya Satrya.
Based on the monitoring, it was found that several canned food products allegedly did not have distribution permits in Pujabaharai Market. The product was acquired from Singapore and was brought by hand for 50 cans.
“The products unfortunately have to be seized by BPOM to be destroyed,” conclude Argya Satrya.
