Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office Kuntadi has named Sofia Balfas (SB), the Operational Director II of PT Bukaka Teknik Utama Tbk (BUKK), as a suspect in an alleged corruption case related to the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II Toll Road, specifically the Cikunir to West Karawang or MBZ section, on Tuesday (19/9/23).
"After a thorough investigation supported by two substantial pieces of evidence, the investigation team has named SB, the Operational Director II of PT Bukaka Teknik Utama (as suspect)," stated Kuntadi in Jakarta.
After being named a suspect and undergoing a medical examination, investigators have detained SB for 20 days at the Salemba Detention Center, an annex of the Attorney General's Office.
SB, in her capacity as Operational Director II of PT Bukaka Teknik Utama, was accused of playing a role in an alleged conspiracy to manipulate and alter the specifications of certain goods to benefit the company at the expense of the nation.
"We charge her under Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Crime Law, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code," added Kuntadi.
Earlier, on Wednesday (13/923), the Attorney General's Office had named three other suspects, namely Yudhi Mahyudin (YM), the chairman of the JJC Bidding Committee; Toni Budianto Sihige (TBS), a bridge expert of PT LAPI Ganesatama Consulting; and Djoko Dwijono (DD), the managing director of PT Jasamarga Jalan Flyover Cikampek (JJC) during the 2016-2020 period.
The actions of these suspects have resulted in significant financial losses to the state, with preliminary estimates by investigators tallying approximately IDR 1,5 trillion. The forms of unlawful acts carried out by the suspects were reducing the volume and regulating the winners of tenders.
In this case, the Attorney General's Office identified another suspect, with the initials IBN, allegedly obstructing the investigation into the Jakarta Cikampek II Elevated Toll Road project for the Cikunir to West Karawang section, on Tuesday (16/5/23).
IBN, a retired employee of state-owned company PT Waskita Karya, is suspected of influencing witnesses to withhold truthful information and instructing them not to provide necessary documents to investigators.
