Bali Immigration Detains 7 Women, 2 Suspected in Prostitution

Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar.   The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in Bali detained seven female foreigners, two of whom are suspected of engaging in prostitution.

Suhendra, the Head of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, explained on Friday (3/4/2024) that the the 33-year-old Tanzanian and the 26-year-old Ugandan were caught soliciting services online

Both of the women entered Indonesia using a visit visa and an investor's Limited Stay Permit Card, according to antaranews.com.

The Immigration Office detained five other Tanzanian women in Seminyak and Kuta. 

Among them, one is facing charges of misusing a stay permit, another was found without a passport while the rest are also currently under investigation, Suhendra said.

Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement officers are examining their cases.

In the first quarter of 2024, 37 foreigners were deported for various violations, including legal infractions and criminal involvement.

Bali Immigration has deported 340 foreigners in 2023 and 188 in 2022.
