Bandar Lampung Police Chief, Military Commander Lead Flood Relief

Inp.polri.go.id - Bandarlampung.  The Bandar Lampung City Sub-reginoal Police, in collaboration with the Bandar Lampung District Military Command, conducted a humanitarian mission in several locations affected by floods in Bandar Lampung City on Tuesday (27/2/2024). One of the locations, Gelora Persada Housing Complex on H. Komarudin Street, Raja Basa Raya, Raja Basa Subdistrict, Bandar Lampung, suffered significant impact from the flooding. Bandar Lampung Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Abdul Waras, said that they deployed two platoons, totaling around 60 to 100 personnel, with assistance from the Bandar Lampung District Military Command, the 143rd Infantry Battalion of the TWEJ Lampung, and the Bandar Lampung City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). The combined military and police personnel worked together to clear debris, trash, and mud from the area. They also cleaned up the remaining mud in the mosque's courtyard. Moreover, the authorities provided free healthcare services and distributed food to the residents. "We conducted health check-ups, including blood pressure monitoring, and provided medication and vitamins to the community," Chief Abdul said, He emphasized that these activities demonstrate the police's commitment and presence within the community. "We hope that these efforts will alleviate the burden on our fellow citizens affected by the flood disaster," said Chief Abdul. (mg/ay/pr/nm)
