Inp.polri.go.id - Serang.  Banten Regional Police Chief Inspector General Suyudi Ario Seto said on Thursday (24/10/2024) about the need for heightened vigilance against radicalism and intolerance, which have become more prevalent with the rapid spread of information in today’s digital age.

“In the era of globalization and advanced technology, the spread of radical and intolerant ideologies has become easier and faster. This issue demands serious attention, especially from the police, who are at the forefront of maintaining public order,” he said, as reported by antaranews.com..

Speaking at a training session for police personnel to prevent radicalism, Chief Suyudi stressed that radical ideologies can lead to conflict, violence, and social disintegration.

"Prevention is a strategic step," he asserted.

Chief Suyudi urged the police to identify early signs of radicalism and educate the public about tolerance. He also highlighted the importance of building analytical and practical skills to counter such threats.

The event was attended by local leaders, including the Head of the Banten Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Dr. A. Bazari Syam, and the Chairman of the Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum, Dr. H. Amas Tajudin.
