Banten Regional Police Formulates Security Scheme in Approaching Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022

Chief of Operations Bureau of Banten Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Amiludin Roemtaat, addressed that the policy is an effort to control the Covid-19 pandemic so that this joint letter could have campaigned so people could be informed and understood. "People need to understand the new policy on the cancellation of national holidays on Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022, so they should arrange activities inside their town", Roemtaat said.

Roemtaat then said that the security for Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 would be coordinated in a meeting with National Police Headquarter and become the main national benchmark and integrated with all Regional Police, mainly in the regions with high mobility. "I'm going to Bali to discuss with the Indonesian National Police and other Regional Police to formulate the security plan for the Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 and insulation pattern to ensure the government's policy that cancelled national holidays could be conducted well", Roemtaat said.

In order to ensure effective enforcement of Health Protocols in public places, including tourism objects, harbours, offices, religious places, and other places, Banten Regional Police would conduct more intensive inspections such as the obligation of public places to provide PeduliLindungi barcode scan. "Banten Regional Police would check the PeduliLindungi barcode scan in public places such as harbours, tourism objects, malls, hotels, and other public places and the obligatory Health Protocols enforcement", Roemtaat said.

Meanwhile, Chief of PR Agency of Banten Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Shinto Silitonga, addressed that until now, major parts of Banten province is still on Level 3 of Community Activity Restrictions Enforcement (PPKM), so there are still limitations in visitors number in public places. "Approaching Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022, the security patterns would be adjusted with the updated PPKM regulations. We are conducting mobility insulation on the main road to the tourism objects. For people without green status in their PeduliLindungi application, they are advised to stay at home", Chief of PR said.

Finally, the Chief of PR explained the importance of vaccination acceleration in approaching Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022. "Let's support government's programme such as Health Protocols, PPKM, vaccination, and national holidays cancellation to accelerate Covid-19 handling and national economic recovery", Chief of PR Agency concluded.
