Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Bali Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) evacuated the body of a woman, suspected to be a foreign citizen, from the base of Uluwatu Temple's cliff on Thursday (9/1/2025).
The body, found lying face down on rocks, was reported by the Badung lifeguard unit at 10.20 am local time. Due to the challenging terrain, they sought Basarnas' assistance, according to antaranews.com..
A 12-member SAR team, equipped with extrication tools, was deployed to the 68-meter-high cliff. Using a thermal drone to confirm the body’s location, the team carefully executed the evacuation.
The process, completed in 1.5 hours, was expedited as rising tides posed a threat.
The woman, approximately 160 cm tall, had fair skin, dark hair, and a cross tattoo on her back. She wore a black bikini and showed visible injuries, including a suspected leg fracture.
The body was taken to Prof. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar for identification and further investigation.
