inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) recorded 195 cases of alleged violations of village head neutrality during the 2024 Regional Head Election campaign.

Bawaslu Chairperson Rahmat Bagja said the 195 cases were spread across 25 provinces and the violations were recorded from the beginning of the campaign period until October 28, 2024.

"As of October 28, 2024, there were 195 cases spread across 25 provinces with details of 59 findings, 136 reports, 130 registered, 55 unregistered, 10 cases not yet registered," revealed the Bawaslu RI Chairperson on Monday (10/28/2024).

Rahmat continued that in Article 70 Paragraph 1 of the Regional Election Law there is a regulation that prohibits the election candidate pairs from involving village heads or sub-district heads and village or sub-district officials in their campaign.

Thus, Rahmat appealed to village heads and other village officials to maintain neutrality during the 2024 Regional Head Election campaign period.

He hopes that the appeal can be followed and implemented by all regional head candidates and also their campaign supporting teams to not involve village heads and their officials.

“So that the electoral agenda that is going on now can be held competitively, fair, honest, and democratic,” concluded Rahmat.
