Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), reminds that State Civil Apparatus (ASN), Indonesian Military Force (TNI), and Indonesian National Police (INP) to uphold their commitment in being neutral for 2024 General Elections. Bawaslu admits that there are big challenges in monitoring neutrality to those state servants.
Bawaslu Commissioner, Totok Hariyono says that his institution can only give recommendations in enforcing the law against neutrality violations by ASN. “Either violations in administration, criminal actions, ethics code, or others,” says Totok in his press statement on Saturday (10/28/2023).
He then reveals that neutrality benefits of ASN in election covers several aspects. First, for Civil Service Development Officer (PPK), ASN neutrality could support government goals.
“Because they are more focused in giving their all in their job and does not have to think about politics. Moreover, PPK could also be focused on their work programs and not be bothered by enforcing sanctions to ASN neutrality violations,” says Totok.
On the other hand, in bureaucracy, ASN neutrality could improve the implementations of merit system and their public service. Which, in turn, the bureaucracy would be more independent, transparent, and accountable.
Moreover, the benefits of ASN neutrality could boost their personal carrier open, as long as they are full of integrity, competent, and skilful in work.
“These factors would establish a healthy work environment just because ASN maintain their neutrality. For the public, the neutrality of ASN can make the public feel that they are being served fairly and satisfactorily," concluded Totok.
