Inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. The Bekasi Metropolitan Sub-regional Police's Criminal Investigation Unit has identified on Wednesday (27/3/2024) three suspects in a viral case involving the adulteration of subsidized fuel with water at a gas station in Bekasi. The suspects, identified as NN, MA, and EK, have been named as suspects for the fuel misuse. According to Superintendent M. Firdaus, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, the incident occurred when two cars and twelve motorcycles broke down after refueling with Pertalite at Gas Station 43-17106 in Marga Jaya, South Bekasi on Monday. A joint investigation by the Bekasi Police and Pertamina Regional West Java led to the confiscation of two bottles, each containing 600 ml of suspected water-adulterated Pertalite, and the inspection of four Pertalite dispensers at the gas station. No leaks were found in the tanks. Later that day, the police detained five people, including the three suspects, in CIkampek and Karawang. The two other men were identified as AD and SH. The police found hoses used for fuel adulteration. The suspects face charges under Job Creation Law and Oil and Gas Law, carrying a maximum penalty of six years imprisonment and a fine of up to Rp60 billion. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
